The Terrorist

Everything hurts.

I’m stuck in this hospital room alone. No one will tell me the truth. No one will tell me what they’ve done to me.

But I can guess.

I remember, years ago, watching one of the promo pieces for the Service on my lens viewer. It was all about a beautiful, perfect woman living a beautiful, perfect life after serving her term.

Is that what this is going to be like?

I have curves now that I definitely was not born with. My skin and hair feel smooth. Even my lens looks different.

It’s like they’ve taken the soldier right out of me.

They say I have a new chip, a new life, and a huge budget.

And they only want a few things in return…
